Family space & garage addition
Project Type
Residential Extension
Location
Norfolk
Planning?
Yes
Set within a village setting, this residential extension was designed as a bold yet considered contrast to the existing bungalow. The client wanted a light-filled, contemporary addition that reconnected the home with its garden and surrounding countryside.
The extension creates a generous kitchen-diner and open family living space, alongside a new garage, all oriented to maximise views and natural light. A mix of timber cladding and crisp render was paired with an agricultural-inspired roof form, allowing the addition to confidently stand apart while still responding to its rural context.
Defined by bold angles, subtle curves, and industrial-influenced materials, the design introduces a fresh architectural language to the home. Expansive glazing blurs the boundary between inside and out, creating flexible, bright spaces for modern family living — with only the final details now to complete.

we enjoyed the whole process - they make it fun and keep you informed... they do what they say and they're with you all the way, giving reassurance things are being done as they should be.

Bungalow expansion
They communicated brilliantly and really understood what I wanted. The design brings loads of natural light into the house and has created a great family space, with angles and curves that just feel right.

The Addition team are forward-thinking, and we changed very little from the original drawings — just a few personal tweaks. The design was spot on from the start.
